I’m hoping to score this tomorrow evening. My friend the shop owner ran the plate and the VIN and it comes up legit.

We loved the '06 my wife had. It was a great little car. If we had stuck with one kid, we'd probably still have it.

A friend of mine has an ‘09 and I thought it drove wonderfully. Our ‘89 Camry I was going to do an engine-out tune-up at Thanksgiving and replace all the gaskets and seals, but last week it crapped its heater core, which I replaced only a year or two ago, and I’m done. Over the tipping point. New parts from stem to stern on that car and it’d make a great mechanic’s special at $1,000. Or if I can get that much from the emissions board for scrapping it, I might go that way as well. 240,xxx miles.

I loved my 09' - only issues were a single recall for a starter motor and it kinda ate rear shocks. But it was super fun to drive and the 2010+ models get quite a bit better mileage.

And at $4300, and as clean as that car looks to be, and only a 2011, there’s not a lot of room for crack in the price.

Buddy of mine got a 2012 with more miles one trim up and a skyactiv for a bit more.
Its been a solid car except for an intermittent cylinder 3 misfire.

Where does one generally buy wood paneling?
I showed you the rustic Shaker-style cabinet doors in my niece’s kitchen and I’m going to make similar ones, but use Doug fir for the frames — the rest of the cabinets are Doug — and I want to use a wood paneling with a detail for the panels. I’m thinking something with a slight groove every 1.5 inches or so. They’ll be painted. I’ll groove the frames and have the panels in the grooves. Don’t know the correct jargon for that...
I’ll have an excuse to buy a joiner!
PS: I hope I didn’t leave you chafing when I was razzing you about your dishwasher. I was just being a butt.

Kinda ate rear shocks? Did you replace with Mazda shocks or go aftermarket? Always been a KYB man, myself...

I drove a friend’s ‘09 and I was very impressed with it. My wife and I like 5 speeds and plain, clean, sensible cars.

just stock - every 40k ish. And the shock itself was ok, it always handled find, it was the mount/bushing that wore out and started clunking/clanking so maybe an aftermarket product would have been the way to go...

NP! That are is very easy on cars, I feel. Should be good for maaaaany more miles.

I think it’s NP. And at $4300, not a giant risk. Gone go snatch it up tomorrow evening. It’s perfect for Mrs. and me because we like white and we like manual transmissions and we like clean, sensible little sedans.
We’ll sell the Versa to our daughter for $2000.

Really? They’ll give you a grand for scrapping it? Seems like a shame, it’d be an excellent Gambler! If that 3 checks out in person, I'd jump on it. They're good little cars.

Honestly, I have no idea where or even if you can buy real wood paneling anymore. Maybe at a specialty/hardwood lumber yard? The garbage they sell at home centers is just luane plywood with a screen printed pattern on it. Otherwise you may have to look for old houses that they’re selling materials out of before they tear them down.
But yay for new tools!
I have to buy a new jigsaw. I murdered mine this weekend by dropping it on the garage floor and bending the crap out of the shoe.
As for the dishwasher, you’re well within your rights to be wrong, ya crabby old man :P
